Can i take backup while replication is running?

How can i temporary disable replication if i want to change in replicated table structure.


My snapshot agent is not getting start automatically and i have to press manually start, can i schedule it auto.

Yes backups are fine and highly recommended!

Depends on what you are changing, but you may not even need to disable it. Lots of schema changes get replicated automatically, started with SQL 2005.
