Hi,

I need your help first on the windows part.

I installed sql server 2012 enterprise on a windows server 2012 Datacenter vm, but failed on Management Tools and Db Engine Services among couple other minor services. The log told me I needed .net framework 3.5.

After I installed .net framework 3.5, it said, Windows Server roles and features are not automatically installed...So it failed.

This is a test/dev box. On the server roles, I think only Application Server makes sense. Our windows guy asked me what do I need to turn on, and I have no idea and did not find any useful documentation on BOL/msdn/technet.

On Sql server installation, I selected stand-alone for now, but it may be failover cluster installation. The db server is for sharepoint 2013 in a three tier farm setting.

Ok, I got over the .net framework part by downloading windows .iso image then run
dism.exe cmd.

Now I am working on fixing my sql server 2012 install.
