Hi, I have recently joined a new company and my first task is to take a hardcoded preexisting application and separate the database and web services physically on different servers. I guess the original design only allows for single installation of websw and database on one server. I am not really sure how to go about this? users access the database via url access only. Maybe I can load two installations on two servers and shut off IIS and application services on one server and the database on the other? or possibly set up SOAP endpoints? Any advice or direction is much appreciated. I am using SQL Server Ent 2008 r2, Windows Server 2008, VM.
