I have SQL Server 2012 Express insalled on my dev machine because it is lightweight( I have to supported many systems) and the licence is free.

However I have clients that have proper version of SQL Server anything from 2000 to 2008. Now I had a clients who send me their dbs and I hav to do queries on their dbs however I can't since as soon as I try to either restore or attach those databases to SQL Server 2012 Express I get it is not allowed due to product incompatibility and it refuses to restore or attach the datase to Express.

1. Is their away around this?

2. I know sql 2000 had a publishing wizard which at least generated the data with it which I could ask clients to send me but later version don't have this. Is there any such tools for sql 2005 to 2012

Very Important crosS Applying yaK Herder
