Hi. I started to install Sql Server 2005 on Windows 7 32 bit OS. When it was installing the services to it gave me a message that "Sql Server Service failed to start" and do it manually, some kind of message with Retry and Cancel button. I Retried again and again but not working, so i cancelled it. The installation completed but i can't see any SQL Instance in my local PC. SQL Server Management Studio did not install.

Please guide me What to do?

Check Sql server Error Log. If new installation, check the installation Log.

Sounds like installation was not succesful (if you cant find the service itself). Try reinstalling sql server and client tools.

Ok...if MSSQLSERVER services is running then you should be able to connect to server. Can you try connecting it from Management studio? Also which edition you installed?

@ visakh16:

I'm working sql Standard. Secondly, SQL Management Studio is not here in my start menu. In my start menu, under SQL Server 2005 folder, there are only 2 folders the CONFIGURATION TOOLS and DOCUMENTATION AND TUTORIALS. Nothing else. I selected Sql Server Configuration Manager and then selected services, so it shows only 3 services i.e. SQL Server Integeration Services, Sql Server analysis Services (MSSQLSERVER) and SQL Server Browser. All running except integration services that is stopped. Please guide me for this.

that does mean database engine and desktop tools were not installed properly. Can you try reintalling this?

What preRequisites Visakh?

I have SP3 of SQL Server, but it only works after the installation of SQL. If i try to install it so first it finds the instance of SQL, when i does not find it so it gives error that no instance of SQL has been dectected.

It is not asking for any SP version to install. My time is wasting and burden of work is increasing upon me. I made an screen shot of the error but this forum doesn't attach the image, its not working.
