Sort of NZDF. Let him try and use the time spent trying to contemplate on the bad sides of using dynamic SQL.
Or, create a view for every 50 tables (that makes 10 views) and then a SUPERVIEW for the 10 views... What a performance!

i don't think that would even work... it'd still error out about too many columns. wouldn't it?

Not a UNION view. The number of columns are the same.
I have seen this recently at my current client. A layer of 3 views on top of each other. Base table is 29 million record table. And they wonder why the query against the top view was slow...

What will happen when tables are created daily like MyTable20061002,MyTable20061003,etc?

Well the mods can determine if they are the same person. Snitz keeps track of IP addresses. It's come in handy in the past.
