No, he is not. Insulting someone's credentials is not an appropriate response to rudeness, perceived or otherwise. And posting it in white text is simple cowardice, not common decency or respect. |

Have to agree with Rob and Gail here. If my kids acted like you fellas, I'd scold them and make them apologize. There was nothing rude or mean about what Robert wrote.
Tara is bright. She's a grown-up. She's got a whole lot of knowledge about SQL. She can defend herself. As if there's anything that even needs defending here...
Seems like Brett et al have an overdeveloped sense of loyalty to Tara or something. Which I get btw. She is an almighty goddess after all. :)

I would have preferred that Roberts (someone with credentials ) 1st post was to help someone, not try and discredit someone who has put a great deal of time and effort into helping others here.
I am somewhat defensive of Tara as others are. (not that she can’t take care of herself) As she spent a great deal of time and patience helping me while I was trying to get back into programming after being out for 10 years.
However if my script was out of line I apologize.

Wow. haven't had much time to check sql team lately and....... Woaa!
the 'Twit List' seems to have become pretty damn meta.
If anyone is still reading that has stated they are done then I'd just like to say:
"I hope you do keep posting but if you don't: Thanks for the good advice, thanks for the contribution to my (and many other's) education."
Charlie.

I am so sorry that my post from two years ago caused so much grief while I was on vacation this past week. Robert is right that the information I posted was incorrect, although I do agree that he could have said it in a better way. I am not at all offended by him, and I ask that we all just move on.
I have corrected my post and have long since stopped posting that information when I learned it wasn't a general recommendation.

There should be no reason for an apology from you.
I am sorry...to you and everyone on SQLTeam
I beg your pardon

| In defense of the OP, Madhivanan was able to help him/her without any DDLs. So may be it was not really needed if one had read his/her request carefully enough or was perceptive enough (which obviously I didn't and wasn't). |

My post makes no sense, therefor you don't understand English!
Somehow, attempting to use nested cursors and being unable to ask a coherent question seem to go together, like two symptoms of the same underlying confusion.

| Nah, I reckon it should be named, "I want help!", with a subtitle of "but I already know everything and have the attitude to boot" |
