Experts... im completely stuck. My laptop was stolen, my replacement arrives with vista on it. Get my SQL Stuff on it and when I try executing a select statement on one of the sql servers I get the error; An error occurred while executing batch. Error message is: Internal connection fatal error. and it simply disconnects. I cant run any queries! Please help.

I can successfully execute queries on the local machine.

Now I use SQL Management Studio to connect to my other sql servers. One is 2005 and the other is 2000.

I cannot execute queries on either of these. This is even if I connect as "sa" in management studio, I often get the error "An error occurred while executing batch. Error message is: Non-negative number required.
Parameter name: count" the query stops with say a hundred or so results and also I am then disconnected from the server.

Im totally lost on this one. I am so far behind

Sounds like firewall is preventing inbound traffic from the SQL box

Can you Ping your laptop from the SQL Box?

uninstall redgate stuff and restart your computer.
if that doesn't help you'll have to reinstall management studio
