Not put on more weight.
Not get less fit.
Not work.
Not drink any less.

Maybe I'm being a bit negative here.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
SSIS can be used in a similar way.

"Maybe I'm being a bit negative here.

Your resolution can be made less negative by optimising to:

Not (put on more weight OR get less fit OR work OR drink any less)

A long time ago I made the only resolution that I have ever kept for any length of time.

Not to make any more resolutions

-----------

I used to think I wasn't a morning person but it never got better in the afternoon

I'm not calling it a resolution, it's just an item on my to-do list: get at least one MS certification in SQL Server.

Pretty much the same but less formal, I want to get fluent in T-SQL. High time too, given how long I've been at this.

Didn't you use a freeby exam voucher?
I did - wanted to do it in something I didn't know but in the end took a SQL Server exam on new years eve on the day the voucher expired. They only had 2 wrong answers which isn't bad I guess.
Anyone else - watch out for the trick questions - they started off with select one then drop in some select many. A friend pointed out there was a practise exam before I did it and I got half way through before I realised you had to read the question. Could be different now though.

Guess this makes me an MCP in two ways.

Happy new year from Perth WA.

I resolved to be more tolerant of the useless, brain-dead idiots that I have to work with, and to treat them with the respect they deserve.

I don't ever do New Year's resolutions, but I did start dieting at the beginning of November.

I've started a number of new hobbies, or interests, as a "New Year's Resolution" over the years. Astronomy, Playing the Saxophone, Growing vegetables, installing Solar Panels ....

... rather than trying to give up something I've enjoyed doing for many years - like Eating, Drinking and being Merry!

I've failed to "Start keeping Bees" for a couple of years though - but only lack of time has got in the way of that one, so even that one I will do sooner or later.
