Hello,I had a database setup in SQL Server 2008 but due to the database being for a game, it was full of unnecessary data. I attempted to delete all the data from a table by using the following as an example:DELETE FROM table_name example;I must have accidentally deleted wrong columns so I tried to restore the database using the .bak backup file but during the restore process, the database wasn't able to restore the db because of a system 32 error which mentioned a process was in use?Any ideas? |

You need to disconnect all session/spids from the database before a restore can be done. You can try this, but you might also need to KILL connections if they have elevated permissions:ALTER DATABASE YourDatabase SET RESTRICTED_USER WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATETara KizerSQL Server MVP since 2007http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/ |
