Whenever my query takes long time to run my DBA calls me up and says he is going to kill job because its slowing down other process.. My question is

1. how does my DBA know which user is taking more resources?

2. how to kill my sql statement ..( I heard even if i click red button on sql server query runs at background)

1 EXEC SP_WHO
2 KILL SPID

Provided you have enough permission to do so
