Newsletter and Server Upgrade

By Bill Graziano on 01 July 2001 | 0 Comments | Tags: Site News

I've got a few topics I wanted to cover so I thought I'd lump them all together. Here's some information on the server upgrade we did and our newsletter.

Server Upgrade

Our server upgrade is completed. We're now on a Windows 2000 web server connecting to SQL Server 2000. This gives me the updated version of the script engine. I needed this so I could run some scripts to syndicate content. Before too long I'll have an XML file available with our headlines that anyone can put on their site. The DNS entry was changed over the weekend so it should finish propogating early this week.

Newsletter

We've started a newsletter. This should go out every other week or so. It will initially contain a summary of what was posted on the site during those two weeks. Once I get that part figured out I'll start adding original content to the newsletter.

Everyone that has submitted a question or registered in the forums with a valid email address will get a one-time email asking them to subscribe in the next week or two. Of course, you can always subscribe now. There is also a link on the left side of every page that will allow you to sign up.
