I have been setting off jobs for months. The slightest of changes to check. A few extra things to try each time. The longest has been 2 minutes or so before finishing.

At 10:52 all 4 steps have succeeded but now after almost an hour the current step is showing nothing - I can't imagine what it could be doing. Still looping? Can I terminate it or tell what it's doing in there? Because it's not debugging and don't think I can terminate it, can I do anything about it?

Thanks

OK

I hit Stop Job. Never knew that command was there. I wonder how smoothly that has done this. I wonder how messy that has left this.... it could be any kind of state...

What do you perform in the job? You can trace it in profiler if it does sql work.
