Hi All,
I have a DTS package that runs at every 3 minutes and it has many more than 20 steps. Most of the steps are again, some DTS. It had failed randomly on few occasions in past few days at different steps.
The error message that it throws is as following:
'DTSRun: Loading... Error: -2147467259 (80004005); Provider Error: 0 (0) Error string: Timeout expired Error source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server Help file: Help context: 0. Process Exit Code 1. The step failed.'
There are some closely resembling articles available in this forum, still, it is different due to 'timeout expired' error. Using SQL server 2000 SP4.

Appreciate your quick replies here. Thanks.

Either make them more efficient or set the timeout value higher. I believe you can do it in the disconnected properties, but it's been a long time since I've touched DTS.

Hey Ganeshk, I used to work with a guy named Ganesh and his last name began with a K. Did you by chance ever work in Kentucky?

Hi Tara - can you please tell something more about disconnected properties?

Hi Visakh - Nice to hear from you. Its not really large chunk of data. The data gets imported is very small, and get pulled at every three minutes. Its more about the high priority to this data, so that user can start working immediately on the data recieved.

Hi Van - No, I have not been so lucky, as of now to work in Kentucky.
I am not that GaneshK. Btw, nice to hear from you. Keep posting.

You can enable package logging, that will tell you details why packages fail.
