My commute is about 15 minutes from home to work and then about 40 minutes from work to home. Roads are a bit congested on my way home.

I spent about 2 hours commuting per day (approx), but luckily it is on a commuter rail train and I can walk from my house to the station (about .7 miles) and also from the station to my office (a few blocks). It's actually quite relaxing! On the train I browse the internet, do some reading, watch movies on my PDA, and so on. Much more "civilized" than my old commute -- packed into the subway! And much better all around than driving.

i spent about 20 minutes to drive to office in morning and about 30 minutes on evening.Evening delay is caused mostly due to traffic congestions.

The decision factors for selecting my current job were significantly different then those of my first (IT) job. My number 1 factor was distance from home, the tie breaker was that there was a (golf) driving range 1/4 mile away from my office. Although I'm about 5 miles from home, the range closed about 3 months after I started work

That is cool! Do you really RB to work? Did you ever get those springy-bouncy things so you could bound over obsticles on your way in?

yep i do rolerblade every day there and back plus 3 times a week to aikido practice. in average that makes around 6 km (cca 4 miles) per day.
unless it's raining. then i walk.
oh and no i never did get them... for 300 british pounds it's a bit too expensive.

Hmm E.g. in Moscow 4-4.5h (to and back) is a very usual timetable. I'm lucky here.

Nice! I miss living in Boston. I used to be able to walk to work in about 25 mins, I loved it.
