Why would you need to decrypt a password? Password based security should not require decryption.

For passwords, you usually do not encrypt them to store in a database. You hash them and store the hash results in the database, so that the password cannot be decrypted.

SQL Server 2005 has encryption, decryption,and hash functions built-in. You can read about them in SQL Server 2005 Books Online.
