Snitz is coded in classic asp. VBulletin is php. Make sure you use code that your server supports.
VBulletin isn't free, but it's worth the price if your forums are busy. Other popular php forums (free) are phpbb3 and SMF, and there are tons of other forum apps available for download. Visit www.aspin.com or www.hotscripts.com to see much of what's available.
