I'm one of those people who had to learn SQL because things changed where I work. I've been working with it for three years now, improving as I go. I read the FAQs, google, and BOL to learn as much as I can, and searching a couple forums including SQL Team have really helped a lot. I appreciate the knowledge of the contributors, and especially enjoy the humor found on the SQL Team forums. You've helped me learn how to do things, and avoid some mistakes. (Would you believe it, some forums are humorless.)

Here are a couple things I can't figure out. When I google "Yak", the results that look like a definition are all blocked by our security system. Can someone provide a brief - clean - definition? Also, the references to OP: Other People?
These are not earth shaking questions, I know, but if someone has time to clue me in, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

OP = Original poster
yak = animal, unofficial mascot of this site.

Ah, the yak definition is much simpler than I had imagined. I was thinking there must be some inside joke, or acronym.
And, Original Poster, of course! (Slaps forehead)
Thanks much and have a great weekend!

Ahem, it's the OFFICIAL SQL Team mascot. Although the proper use is the icon:
