How would I find out the name of my default instance in SQL Server? Please advice. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I’m using Enterprise Evaluation Edition, if it makes a difference. Thanks.

The default instance doesn't have a name, you simply connect to the server by name or IP address.

You can use the following functions to return the name in a query:

SELECT @@SERVERNAME
or
SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('MachineName')
