Graz: There was a DUP today, I marked the other as a Dup, answered the other and by then the O/P had deleted the one I was answering!
Is it OK if I comment on one "Duplicate of ..." and then use the Spam button on it (leaving the original)? |

Ah ... glad I asked then!
Duplicate posts strike me as mucking up the quality of the accumulated material here, and it would be nice to have a means of just killing them off - its a fair amount of work to post the URL here, and then for a MOD to deal with it - and maybe not all DUPs get seen by MODs in their normal travels, so a "NukePostOnly" button would be nice
It would be nice to be able to edit the post too (I don't particularly want to be a moderator) - tidying up some formatting / spelling / etc. (like StackOverflow) would improve the experience of visitors from Google etc. but I know that Snitz is old, and changing it hard ... |

I'm not sure what to tell you. The features you're looking at all sound like what a moderator would do. I'd be happy to make you a moderator with the assumption that you're going to primarily focus on stuff like this.
And yes, the nuke spam button does lock the account.

It is time to have new moderators. Most of the current moderators are not visiting here frequently

I'm happy to use moderators tools for that purpose - its going to be somewhat less effort than copying the URL to this thread
I just don't think I'm any good at anything that requires intervention & diplomacy.
There again I could use the NUKE button on DUPs and operate a one-strike-and-you-are-out policy (I'll call it "diplomacy" ) |

" And yes, the nuke spam button does lock the account."
Just had cause to use the Nuke Button, and it offered me a "Lock account" checkbox (pre ticked)
So I could perhaps use that to remove DUPs (and not lock the account!) |

Interesting. I had completely forgotten about the checkbox that gave the option to not lock the account.

One of two of those had relevant information so I left those. I did lock her account though.

Yeah, mostly seem to be just content of "Nice post" and "Here's my URL for Google's Spider" |

I have assumed this is spam and moved it to Spam folder.
The subject refers to an 800 number for macdonalds which seems to be associated with dieting lobbyists or somesuch, and text looks to contain a phone number - and no real SQL question.
But the user has 200+ posts ...
... please reinstate if I have misjudged |

I agree (I did check previous posts) - but I thought the Subject and the Message very spammy ... particularly the subject (why put 800 phone number in the subject??.
But MODs can reinstate if they thing its valid post. |
