Hi there,

This is my first time using SQL server 2000 (I use 2005). I've used remote desk top into one of our servers and have opened enterprise manager to access a sql server. however, on opening I dont see any servers, only (local)(winodws NT) and if I attempt to open that I get the message:

A connection could not be established to (local)
Reason: Login failed for user ...
Please verify sql server is running and check your reg properties...

I'm unsure what to do at this point. Do I have to personally register so I can view all the databases on this server?

Hope someone can help

Thanks

you need to register the sql servers you want to access in enterprise manager.
