Dear All.i am Akeem by name, i run whatsupGold for monitoring my networks remotely which has MSDE as the database with 2GB memory limit.the database is now 88.4 percent and i need to shrink this, all effort to do this has proved abortive..pls can any one help me. my e-mail id is ajagunna@estreamnetworks.net.akeem jagunnaIT Support teamestream networks. |

How much space is free? Shrinking isn't compression, if there's no free space you need to delete some data to make free space.Once you have deleted/archived data, there's no need to shrink. SQL will reuse the free space inside the database file.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
