Dear All,Last week end one of our SQL server got shutdown which is running on windows server 2003 suddenly,nobody has initiated that.I was trying to find out the root cause why exactly the server was shutdown.Please help me to find it in any where in the log or something where we can find when and why server shutdown.Thanks in advance,Gangadhar |

Check Event Viewer : SystemLook for Source = "event" entries (around the time it stopped, or was restarted)For a proper shutdown you should see "The Event log service was stopped"For an abnormal shutdown you should see something like "The previous shutdown was unscheduled" or "unexpected" or something like that. Most likely a power cut or someone yanked the cable out ... or maybe it crashed (in which case there will be some sort of indication in the Event Log) |
