Hi

I am getting these errors while installing SQL Server 2008:


"The following error has occurred:
Not all privileges or groups referenced are assigned to the caller.
Click 'Retry' to retry the failed action, or click 'Cancel' to cancel this action and continue setup".

I am trying to install it on Windows 2003 SP2.

Once I hit cancel or Retry, nothing happens except that I get the same error over and over.
Any suggestion?

I have seen this error in other instances related to the Windows time service. Is the time correct? Make sure the time zone AND the displayed time match. The instance I am thinking of I was isntalling WSS for a customer. I was unable to properly authenticate as the time zone was wrong even though the time displayed was correct.

The time zone is confirmed to be correct.

Does the user account under which you are installing SQL Server have the required permissions? I know that is obvious, but I figured I should ask...

Are you an administrator for the Server on which you are installing? The error is saying you either do not have all the required rights or you are not a member of the some required group. What OS are you installing it on?
