I have data im bringing in via an ssis package.

One of my fields has a data type of decimal.

The value being sent from our vendor is '584375.00000' they want it to look like '5843.75'

is this possible to change? only using precision/scale?

Just divide it by 100. You shouldn't have to change the precision/scale unless they have decimals that would be lost by dividing.

I think I have to get the vendor to change..or is there some other way by using scale/precision?

Nope, changing the scale or precision won't change the value, only division will.
