While browsing network neighborhood the Net Admin noticed 2 shares that he doesnt recall and I also do not recall ever seeing before. The share names are: DATA and NETLOGON. Does anyone know about these? If yes, Where did they come from? Hopefully MS software is not setting up shares...Any help is greatly thanked.DanielSQL Server DBA |

Not too sure about the DATA share, but NETLOGON is a special share used by Net Logon service on NT or Win2k Server.---------------Strong SQL Developer wanted in the Boston area. Please e-mail if interested. |

Hmm... I think it has something to do with a backup. I found a folder in that share thats called MISSQL which has a subfolder called DATA and then a subfolder under that called MISSQL and then under that one is DATA and that repeats 1 more time...DanielSQL Server DBA |
