I am upgrading a huge db from SQL 2000 to 2005 there are some next fields is it a must to convert next to marcher (max) or we can do that only to improve performance I .e if I did not change the existing next to nvarchar(max) will that cause me any problemsarah |

TEXT is still supported in SQL Server 2005 but should be converted into VARCHAR(MAX).You do have to be careful about which code is manipulating the column. With TEXT column you used pointers to update parts of column. This doesn't work with VARCHAR(MAX) columns. N 56°04'39.26"E 12°55'05.63" |

i am trying to install sql server 2005.i already have visual studio 2008.but after installation i am not able to connect to server as it is not picking up the local server by default.i manually configure my machine than also i am getting an error. |
