Hi, we need to hire a true SQL Server expert for a day or two of consulting in optimizing a new golf scoring system under heavy load. We've ran into some deadlock errors during the first event the system was tested with and realized that some pieces may need to be re-designed, most likely requiring adding triggers and summary tables and perhaps even having multiple servers for reading and writing. Unfortunately, those things are outside of the level of expertise of our web developers. We are located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. |

Ideally we'd like someone local who can come into the office for a day or two. |

This doesn't really sound like a one or two day job. Can you afford it if it's more like two weeks? Two months? You probably won't find anyone better than Peso if he is willing to work on your system. If you really need someone local, it's probably best to talk to a local consulting company.CODO ERGO SUM |

Contact me at TheSQLGuru at gmail . com. Been doing this type of work for about 15 years now. Can get you references if you need, or you can ask some people on this or other forums about me (Gail Shaw told me about this link as a matter of fact). I am not exactly local but I own an airplane and am only a 3.5 hour flight or so away. Best,Kevin G. BolesSQL Server MVP |

Yeah, it's a tough job market out there for sure! What can I say though - I work so I can fly. My wife has to work to pay for everything else. :) I presented at 11 SQL Saturday events last year and the airplane sure helps out with that.Kevin G BolesTheSQLGuruIndicium Resources, Inc. |

If your plane can take you all the way to Norway and you're in to SSIS/SSRS/SSAS then access to business is practically endless...- LumbagoMy blog-> http://thefirstsql.com/2011/02/07/regular-expressions-advanced-string-matching-and-new-split-function-sql-server-2008-r2/ |
