we have one server connected to SAN. this server has 2 local disk. one of the disk has failed, so the network guys took the image of the good one and swapped it to another server, rebuilt 2 new disk and tried to put it to the old server. it did not work , so they put the old one to the server and now on the "my computer" its showing that one of the SAN drives is missing where sql server has been installed. Any idea how to get back the missing drive to show on the "my computer". we have polyserv matrix running and it shows "import disk error"

You haven't given us anywhere near enough information to help you.

But...what error are you getting after the rebuild swap?

Was SQL service stopped?

I'm assuming, based on the very little info you gave that master was on the local disk? Do you have a backup?

As a starting point could you:
a)List the drive profile of the original server ? Specifying where the app files, data files, log files, tempdb reside?
b)When you retested , did all those files exist?
