Hi we are using sql server 2000 for development.we are
getting timeout errors while calling sp's through ado.net.
The server has couple of db's. What all the basic steps ineed to
take to analyze which process or object creating in db

One can never consent to creep, when one feels an impulse to soar

Verify your statistics are up to date. Verify fragmentation level on indexes. Verify the execution plan. You've likely just got missing indexes, so the execution should reflect that. Also, check blocking and PerfMon.

Oh also, use SQL Profiler if you are unclear what object is getting the timeouts. You'll notice Duration column will be around the timeout value. Those are the ones that are having issues.
