What would the possible reason be for the Delete buton on the version info being inactive? I am logged in as sa, the SQL Server service is started up with admin rights...

You are probably looking at the package in the repository folder not local packages. If I remember correctly there is no versioning of repository packages. So, you can delete the package, but not versions of the package.

The problem is it will not let me delete the package, SQL Server just hangs if I try, even from the server....
