Hi all,
Installed the 64bit on Windows 7 today, set the security to Mixed (our Windows environment needs solidifying), set the SA password to something personal.
Then, I found I had to install Management Studio separately??!?! Did this, and can't connect to a bean. Authentication either fails or when I try to create a new database to which to login, I browse to the folders where the Sys DB's are - they're not home!!
Anyone knows what might be going on before I uninstall the whole thing and start fresh? Where the hell IS the uninstall program anyway??!?!
Thanks all,
JB |

| Uninstalled, cleaned out the Registry, and started off the installation of the Advanced version of Express. Now it just comes to a dead stop after I accept the licencing. I don't mean freezing, the rest of the process simply fails to begin. |

Popped in "tcp:ServerName\InstanceName" ...
I'm sure about the Server name, but where do I find the instance name if I can't even get into the system?
Error: 26 - Error locating Server/Instance Specified (Microsoft SQL Server) |

| I don't understand why it isn't OFFERING me a server name to connect to. I shouldn't have to offer server names or instances...that makes me suspect something is wrong with the installation. |
