I'm trying to get rid of the transaction log but I can't due to open processes. Is there a way to do this relatively easy? Thanks so much for the help! :) |

You can't "get rid of" the transaction log. It is required by the database. You can manage its growth though. If your recovery model is set to FULL, then you need to backup the tlog frequently, such as every 15 minutes. If you don't require these recovery points, then you can consider switching to SIMPLE recovery model. Either way you go and if you haven't been doing one of these all along, you can do a one-time shrink to get it down to a manageable size.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog |
