There's been a bit of a storm over GoDaddy supporting the SOPA legislation:

http://support.godaddy.com/godaddy/go-daddys-position-on-sopa/

Stackoverflow has taken a stand against:

http://meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/116891/will-stack-overflow-boycott-godaddy-because-of-their-support-for-sopa

In case anyone wants information on transferring their domains off GoDaddy:

http://blog.jeffepstein.me/post/14629857835/a-step-by-step-guide-to-transfer-domains-out-of-godaddy

I'm just rendering an opinion here, but SOPA is not something I support, nor will ever. And of all the gripes I've had about GoDaddy, this one tears it for me.

And again this is just an opinion, but I'd like to ask Bill if perhaps SQLTeam can move its registration off GoDaddy as well. It's not so much to send them a message...actually, yeah, it is. Fuck GoDaddy in the ear.

Sorry to rant.

I must admit, I don't understand why people use companies like that to handle domains at all. I have 2 domains and I registered them both with the domain authority myself. Means when they expire (or come close), I get a mail direct from the registrar with no 'helpful' company deciding to renew for me or renew in some other name.

Rob, your link now shows that GoDaddy has reversed their position (as of Dec 22). The link on their support site has the full details.

I liked their commercials, but that was about it.
