how to generate reports in sql2008

use sql server reporting services. or if its for adhoc access you can generate a report model using report builder and create adhoc reports out of it

Is it possible to simply add an .RDL to an asp.net project, and access the
report

you can call report to asp.net using report viewer or by implementing SOAP API webservice for reporting service.

hi,
In configuring Reporting services configuration manager ,am connecting to my local DB and following the steps,but at step database changeDatabase is clicked at last step process and finish am getting error"Running database scripts error".

hmm...which databse you're trying to change? reportserver databse?
