Hi,
Whenever I try to log in the SQL Server 2008 Management Studio, I get this error:
“A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server…”

My credentials were:
Server type: Database Engine
Server Name: .\SQLExpress
Authentication: Windows Authentication

Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Mavericky

Take a look at this thread to see if the discussion there would help you: http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=173779

Edit: I hadn't seen this post when I replied http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=174358 Jeff is right, more likely than not, you don't have SQL Server installed.
