I need to convert a nvarchar (30) to a number so that it will SUM in Report Builder 2.0. Can you help?

You can use an expression either in the SUM or in the data column itself - something like this:
=SUM(CDbl(Fields!YourCharColumn.Value))
I don't have report builder 2.0, I am guessing based on 3.0, but I don't think this part has changed much.
