| There is a pretty good article here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc794278.aspxIt is a little long, but helpful. Also, you need to be on SQL 2008 or higher to use it. There are other ways without using the hierarchyID data type - if you google for "hierarchies in SQL" you will find useful links. |
