I've been trying to replace a dev custom assembly on a server with the fully functional production version .Replacing the dll file didn't add the functionality as it should have . Removing the dll from the server and restarting the service didn't produce any error at the ran reports.There also was no error when deploying the reports to the server after removing the dll file from the server.

That is strange indeed. The only reason I can think of is that the report does not use the functionality in the custom assembly. The code wouldn't happen to be embedded in the RDL, would it?
