I just read the FB message from his wife. I am so sad. He had been fighting so hard to beat cancer. He gave it all he had.

I can't believe he's gone. I've "known" him for 10 years here on SQLTeam and maybe 2 years on FB. So very sad for my dear online friend and his family.

I sent my condolences to his wife and let her know that he will be missed by SQLTeam. He was so in love with her and was such a great dad.

Very sad to learn that Brett passed away.

Even though I didn't know him outside of SQL Team, his lively and effervescent character and his affection for his family came through in his forum posts and I felt like I knew him. I am going to miss him and that energy.

Tara, thank you for conveying our collective condolences.

Bye Brett... :(

Brett was liked and respected by many, as is evident from the many many condolences being offered on many different venues. He was a strong contributor to this forum and others, who offered his help and advice without asking anything in return.
You will be lucky if as many are aware are of your life and passing, and care enough to speak about it.

He is up there now.
No more Pain.
He places glasses around the table waiting for us to join.
And lifts his to toast us.

Goodby my friend.
Your time here was too short.

We will see you on the other side.
