hi experts,

My 2008 R2 package is on a 64 bit server.
It runs fune in BIDS but when I run it from an Agent job, I get the error below:

The Excel Connection Manager is not supported in the 64-bit version of SSIS, as no OLE DB provider is available.

I know the workaround is to run the package as a command.

My question is - is this issue fixed by SP1? My instance is RTM.

Thanks, Jack

There is also a check box on the agent job properties for these jobs where you can tell the process to run the 32-bit version.

Thanks jeffw8713. The 32 bit check box is the simplest option and works well.

If I can only remember to use that option when I face this issue again 6 months from now, LOL.
