Hi,

I coundn't find a correct answer for this one. So help out.

After our consultant left, the mirroing server is on restoring...

Is that right? I thought one of the beneft is that the mirror can server as reporting db. If that is the case, should it be accessible?

This is 2008R2, high-saftety mode with automatic failover settings.

Also, can someone recommand a good resource about backup/restore under mirroring environment?

Thanks!

You can query it if you setup a database snapshot on the mirror server, otherwise no as it's in a restoring state.

I really dislike this solution though, especially if your database changes quite a bit each day. Be careful of database snapshots!
