Apparently SSIS 2005 doesn't have a LEFT function, but it has a RIGHT function? I'm trying to remove the last digit of a string. For example I need to remove the asterisk from an example value of 1a35423*, so it would become 1a35423.

Thanks for the help in advance.

You can use the SUBSTRING() function with 1 as the start position. If you need to remove all asterisks, you could also use REPLACE().
