Hi,I am new to sql server & i need some help regarding log shipping. I have one centralized database server & 5 locations across india each location database is primary database for that perticuler location. On each location we have installed sql server 2008 r2 database. I want to use centralized server for restoring all 5 locations database and generate reports which will show the history of restored database.each location database file size 65 mb as of now.Can any one please guide me in understanding the concept of log shipping and can it suffice my need.Regrds...Imran Shaikh |

Log shipping is a process that uses transaction logs to update the target database from the source.If you want the other locations to supply data back you will need a different replication (mirroring is one way) as log shipping is one directional.djj |

HI thanks for the reply.Its ok if is one direction, can log shipping backup changes done in stored procedures? can log shipping backups changes done in tables?Regrds...Imran Shaikh |
