i have a sql 2005 express with a db of 4gb. I want to upgrade SQL version from 2005 to 2008 R2. my question is: my db limit change automatically from the inside limit of 4gb to 10gb or I need to backup and restore on a new db that i should first create on sql 2008 R2?

and detach and attach change automatically the size limit of db from 4gb to 10 Gb or i must do a backu/restore to increase this size?

If you upgrade sql server, db size limit should be increased automatically.
