If you're doing a simple UPDATE on a single table from a stored procedure what, if anything, do you return from the stored procedure and why?

Most of the developers will return "Number of rows processed" parameter as output... Because in the case of Success it returns the number(How many rows affected for the UPDATE statement); Otherwise return ERROR code from the catch block....
