Hi every one,I am new to dot net technology,Can any one tell me the difference between dot net and asp.net

dot net and asp.net are basically the same thing.

In simpler terms, I would say

(1) dot net
(2) . net

asp simply means active server pages, which was the original name given to Microsoft's first scripting technology, which used vbscript, it was later developed into a framework, called dot net or .net and for the web it is called asp.net and for desktop applications its .net

And the languages vary, most popular being C#, vb etc

ASP.NET is a specification developed by Microsoft to create dynamic Web applications, Web sites, and Web services.
