HI All

When creating a dataset in SSRS , after I procedure it just hangs for sometime and then displays the error message

"Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."

when i run that query in Management studio its taking 48 sec

Can anyone pls advise.

The default timeout is typically 30 seconds. If your report is expected to take longer, then you'll need to adjust the command timeout value. I haven't touched SSRS in a while, but I would imagine it can be done in Report Manager.
