I have seen many jobs on and and all the jobs for SQL DBA requires atleast 3 years experience. Then how can a newbie get a dba job?

Here are a few ideas:
- if you have development experience, focus on how it relates to Database
- look for Junior DBA positions
- keep on working at things and reading in your spare time, at least this will help in an interview

It is my experience that most work ads overstate the requirements; they ask for three years but will find one year acceptable. Apply for the job...
