I downloaded and installed SQL Server Express and it works as expected successfully. However, on creation of a new data source to SQL Server after placing a data source name and expecting to be able to point on the SQL server I want to connect to, I received no servers so I typed it in and skipped to select changing the default DB, i received two messages: Connection failed: SQL State: 08001. SQL server error 87 and SQL State HYT00 error 0. Could someone tip me how to get this installation completed? thanks Moti

How was the login created which you used in your ODBC connection?
